The Animal Clinic of Clifton
where your pets are treated like family...

About Us

We are located within the quaint, historic town of Clifton and are committed to providing the best possible care to ensure the quality of life and well being of any pet. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best approach which delivers that heath care.  We believe that it is important to include the pet’s family in planning any health program or medical/surgical approach to a disease problem.

We provide complete veterinary services, including:

  • Surgery
  • Dental care
  • Radiology
  • Internal Medicine
  • and Geriatric Care.

State-of-the-art diagnostics equipment, such as ultrasound and MRI/Cat scans are available when needed. Pain management is an integral aspect of surgical procedures and chronic disease conditions. Three year vaccines are our current standard, and coupled with preventative health care such as routine heartworm prevention, flea and tick control, weight/osteoarthritis management and home dental care will allow your pet many disease free years. Local house calls are available, as well as home euthanasia when indicated.

There is an
extensive library available on our website for our interested clinic members.

Dr. Raymond Van Lienden opened the Animal Clinic of Clifton in October of 1995 after practicing for ten years in a large group veterinary facility. The quiet, idyllic location of the town of Clifton and a desire for a more personable style of veterinary care was the impetus for change.  Dr. Van Lienden is a graduate of both George Mason University, Fairfax and Virginia Tech, Blacksburg.  The practice is housed in a fully restored farmhouse, which was built in 1899. Dr. Van Lienden has not been restored, and still has his original parts.
